Customs regulations:

Import:
Every passenger is allowed to import non-commercial goods of the following amount:
  1. tobacco products:
    • 200 cigarettes or cigarillos ( cigars with 3 g per piece) or
    • 50 cigars or 250 kg tobacco or
    • a combination of these products in an equivalent amount

  2. alcohol:
    • 1 liter spirits
    • 2 liter wine

  3. 50 g parfume or 0,25 liter Eau de Toilette

  4. medication of personal need of the passenger.
Furthermore, every passenger is allowed to import duty-free products with a value up to 3,000 crowns. Pets travelling with the passengers into the Czech Republic have to be vested with an international vaccination certificate, in which a vaccination against rabies is confirmed. This confirmation does not have to be older than 3 days.

Export:
Any products are allowed to be exported from the Czech Republic, if there are not for commercial use. The export of cultural monuments is prohibited. If cultural products want to be exported there must be a proof that it is about a cultural monument. For more information about export conditions of cultural products please ask the customs or the sales offices.
Traffic Regulations:
The traffic regulations of the Czech Republic are more or less the same as in the other European countries. No alcohol for the driver before and during the drive. Fasten seat-belts is compulsory. Motorcyclist and pillion rider have to wear helmets. Every accident, which causes personal injury or substantial material damages has to be reported to the police. Children under 12 years and persons smaller than 1.5 m are not allowed to sit in the front next to the driver.

Maximum Speed: for cars and busses up to 3.5 t on country roads 90 km/h, on highways 110 km/h, for motorbycicles 90 km/h and for other motorized vehicles 80 km/h. In cities (also nights) 60 km/h ( if no other signs posted). In Prague and some other cities are parking spaces for residents only. Therefore it is more suitable to park somewhere else, otherwise the car could be towed off or fitted with a brake shoe. Parking in watched over car parks and public parking levels is preferable. Car has to be locked up when leaving and no objects should be left visibly in the car. Using the motorway in the Czech republic you have to pay a toll valid for a year. The sticker has to be put visibly inside the front windscreen. You can get these stickers in every post office, at every bigger border crossing points, at bigger petrol stations etc.

Sale of gasoline:
in the Czech republic are offered: leaded petrol special 90 octane, leaded petrol super 96 octane, unleaded petrol natural 95 octane, unleaded petrol super plus 98 octane and diesel. Many petrol stations in district towns and at main roads and motorways are open non stop.
Airports and air traffic:
The Prague airport is located about 20 km North-West of the city centre. You can use taxis, busses of public transport combined with the tram and also 2 lines of the airport-shuttle-service to get into the centre. In Prague nearly every important airline is presented. More civil airports are located in Ostrava, Brno, Karlovy Vary and Pardubice. Special societies rent small planes for view-flights to different regions in the country. City traffic:
In the Bohemian and Moravian cities metros, cars and busses are used. Furthermore, Prague has three subways connecting centre and outskirts. Tickets can be bought at tobacco and newspaper shops. In Prague and some other cities, tourism tickets are offered for several one-way trips. Tickets have to be devalued when entering the subway or in the metro and bus on the ticket cancelling machines.

Taxis:
Taxi fees, which arise from a fixed price and a tariff per driven kilometer are different from city to city. The tariff must be visible in the front of the taxi. Every taxi driver is obliged to make out a receipt for the money to be paid. Taxis of hotels charge individual tariffs. Taxis can be ordered by phone 24 hours beforehand.
Museums and Galeries:
generally open from 10:00-18:00, except on mondays, during the whole year.

Monuments:
open in the main season from 01. May till 30. September , normally daily from 09:00-17:00 Uhr except on Mondays and on days which follow holidays or day offs. Breaks normally between 12:00 and 13:00 Uhr. In April and October castles are only open on Sa and So, during the week only with a pre-reservation of groups. In winter some of the castles are completely closed.
Motorway tolls:
Using the blue marked ways, the car have to show a vignette. These vignettes can be bought at every post office, petrol station and border crossing points.
Road tolls:
tolls arises from each driven kilometer( i.e. 1 km is apprx. 1,33 CZK)

Example:
Group travel to Prague: On arrival the driver will be asked at the border crossing points how many kilometres he will drive approximately (for Prague apprx. 400 km). The corresponding amount have to be paid at the customs. On leaving the country these payments are proved again. Differences have to be paid for afterwards.
